71 New-Mom Truths

Parenting magazine has an article on 71 New-Mom truths written by Christina Boyle.  As you can imagine I took a glance over of the article and I picked out some "New-Mom Truths" I could relate to very well...at this stage. Here they are (with my verbage in parenthesis):

20. You will thank God for caffeine.

38. You will crack up when you see your kid get down to music for the first time (AND EVERYTIME THERE AFTER).

18. You will forget all about your difficult day with your baby (NOW TODDLER) when you finally see her/him sleeping peacefully at night.

16. You will dread encountering baby-crazed kids with runny noses and coughs (INDEED).

71. You will marvel at the volumes of unconditional love you have for your most wonderful achievement -- your baby.

67. You will miss the smell of Dreft once you get the green light to wash infant clothes with yours. (I CAN'T GET THERE SOON ENOUGH - THOSE DAYCARE STAINS ARE ROUGH!!!)

66. You will cherish the freedom to empty the dishwasher while your baby holds his morning bottle (CUP) himself.

64. You will find Cheerios (AND OTHER RANDOM PIECES OF WHAT NOT) in odd places.

39. You will chat intimately with complete strangers on the grocery checkout line (OR IN ANY STORRE) just because they are pregnant or have a small child.

61. You will eventually find a playgroup whose kids are on the same schedule as yours. (WAIT, THIS EXISTS?)

50. You will be sad to put away what he's grown out of. (SO SAD)
